This system was initiallydeveloped for military purposes by the American defense department.It has evolved into the most complex creation of man. system has opened many opportunities in the globe mainly byincreasing the methods of communication therefore making informationquickly accessible and easily transferable.
Manyevents are recorded in my Internet activity log. The historyindicates entertainment sites such as YouTube. I used this site towatch movies, songs, and funny clips. I spent a total of ten hours onentertainment activities. I accessed educational sites such as myschool portal and an online library site for approximately ten hours.I also talked with my friends and many other people through varioussocial sites such as Skype. Online interactions took up most of thetime in my log as I spent thirty hours. I also logged into somemedical sites where I searched for healthy living tips especiallythose concerning body fitness. These health sites took up five hours.
Iexplored commercial sites through which I enquired on the sales ofsome goods and ordered meals from a local online distributor, whichtook a total of ten hours in the week. I also looked up theadministrative data from local representatives. I spent about fifteenhours on political content. I explored the different presidentialaspirants and their political parties’ manifestos. I accessedvarious types of information including educational content, politicalcontent, commercial content, and medical content, among many otherkinds of information in the last 72 hours of my online activity.
TheInternet has simplified many things in today’s world (Liu, 2012).The once expansive earth is now a small society. I can communicatequickly across time zones with just a message, an email or a phonecall. I can also post some valuable information that would have takenweeks to be delivered before the Internet era. Communicationefficiency benefits businesses as they quickly provide and retrieveinformation. Previously the primary medium for data transfer was thepost office, which was very slow. The fastest delivery of lettersoccurred in about a week. Without the Internet, communication slowsdown significantly across the globe.
TodayI can access school databases from the web, and attend onlineclasses. This aspect in education was impossible before the Internettook over the globe. Online classes make life easier as I can workand learn at my convenient time, unlike before when I had to fixclasses within my busy schedule. has enabled easy accessto goods and services (Bily, 2012). There are online shopping siteswhere I can make orders which are delivered in a short while. I shopin virtual stores while conveniently sitting in my house.
Manythings are now easier because of the Internet. There is a range ofentertainment options unlike before where entertainment was onlylimited to theaters and concerts. Today, live action films arenumerous which have different themes. It is not possible to get boredwhile you can access the Internet. Politics have become an excitingfield because of the web (Bily, 2012). Candidates can engage theirelectorate in their discussions and debates using the Internetplatforms where people can exchange ideas as well as criticize theongoing activities of the administrators.
TheInternet has enhanced many things. Virtually I can execute anythingthrough the web. However, I cannot do some tasks such as supervisingmy business via the Internet, as there is no properly developedsoftware. Supervising requires following up on every aspect of theactivity. However, human beings are random characters who need fellowpeople to observe their behavior and record it. is onlyequipped to process this data but has no methods of observingbehavior and recording it. However, I hope to use the Internetshortly for supervision purpose for instance by using drones androbots.

In the year, 2000 only about 10% ofthe world population used the Internet(Bily, 2012).From my findings, the numbers have dramatically grown to about halfof the global population using the Internet connections today. On theother hand, about 5% of the world population used social media in theyear 2000 and up to half of the world residents in 2016. The growthof the Internet and social media use, are vital as businesses canaccess larger market opportunities. However, people are prone tomedia and Internet vices such as cyber bullying and culturaldecay(Bily,2012).

Microchips are installedin the objects we use every day to enhance their intercommunication.The aim of the researchers who develop ubiquitous computing is tomake smart devices whose communication is unobstructed have anInternet connection, and their data can be retrieved (Bily, 2012).This mode of technology may compromise people’s privacy as it mayend up leaking some sensitive information about an individual.However, there is efficiency generated through this type oftechnology.
