Critiqueof the piece of art
Theartwork resembles a sophisticated woman, depicted by the somewhatexpensive pieces of clothing that she appears to be adorned in. Herfashionable appearance is depicted in the hairstyle that she has. Sheappears quite shy, given the fact that she faces on other side anddoes not give viewers an opportunity to see her whole face. The womanis surrounded by a dark background around her, a factor that makesher quite noticeable.
Thedarkness of the background could shed light on the elements that thepainter wanted the viewers to focus on. It is well enhanced by thelong green dress that the lady puts on, a factor that could aim toput her as the center of focus. The elegance is likewise wellpresented in the fact that the woman in the painting is putting onclothing made of fur, something that acted as a show of class in theprevious centuries. One may as well easily notice the scarcity oflighting, especially on the image of the woman, a factor that couldeither be purely coincidental or the main intention of the artist tosend a given message regarding the woman being portrayed.
Theartist is trying to communicate the enigma that surrounds the womanas shown by the fact that there is some darkness that surrounds her.It is, therefore, quite hard for a person to completely andaccurately describe her. The person represented in the painting was amistress of the painter, and some unconfirmed reports revolved aroundtheir relationship. The fact that she is looks classy andsophisticated to explain to other people the reason as to why hefound his mistress to be attractive.
Thispiece of art is quite easy to understand, in that the painter went along way to represent the inner feelings that he had regarding thewoman in a piece. Given the fact that one can easily, ‘read’ alot about the woman from the painting shows the prowess that thepainter had, in summarizing who she was as a person.
Theart can be "aesthetically pleasing" even if it is notbeautiful because of the ability to speak so many words in a singleimage. Most of the viewers of the selected work of art finally feltthat they had the confirmation from Monet, regarding the saidrelationship that he was having with Camille Doncieueux. They werehappy that he had finally taken the moment to express himself throughsomething that he knew how to do best.
Thefirst photo represents realism which is the state at which a givenimage shows an element that people can relate to. The kind of styleshown here would be used to communicate a given message because it isquite simple.
Oneexample of realism in art seen today is where inanimate objects aremade to bear animate characteristics. The second one is whereby animage of a random scene is taken at an angle that seems soimpressive. The third example lies in the fact that some buildingstructures draw inspiration from some natural features such as thefigure of a flying bird (Karayev, Trentacoste, Han, Agarwala,Darrell, Hertzmann, & Winnemoeller, 2013).
Thesecond image represents impressionism. Basically, impressionism is asituation where the photographer aims to bring out the views that hehas regarding a given image. It is quite normal to find some simpleimages creating a very big impression on some people and as a result, these people could take photos of the same items and aim to sharethem with others or preserve them. The attractive nature of theimages varies from one individual to another in that, while somepeople could find them very impressive, others could just see them asnormal images that do not bear any unique aspect in them (Bressan,Cifarelli, & Perronnin, 2008).
Oneof the situations in which the style of impressionism might best beused in art and design today is through making add-ons to buildingsso as to make them look artistic and appealing to other people.
Thethird image represents post-impressionism. It is evident because ofthe lighting is shown on the image, which gives it a very attractivelook. It is highly likely that most people, even those that have verylittle appreciation for art, will find the photo quite worthy to lookat. Post-Impressionism is the style of art that would evoke myemotions, given the fact that it adds some form of sophistication toa given image (Karayev et al., 2013).
